Dances of Universal Peace

Yes, they will be continuing at the Salisbury Centre!

Dates: Second and fourth Thursday evenings of the month, as follows:
12 & 26 September; 10 & 24 October; 14 & 28 November; 12 December.
Time: 6.45pm for start at 7pm until 9pm.
Venue: The Salisbury Centre, 2 Salisbury Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5AB.
Cost: By donation.
 
Each session will be led by one of three teachers: Fateah, Jenny or Dominic.

We are trained and certificated Dances of Universal Peace teachers with many years experience between us of leading these Dances in a variety of settings. We have also all taken further training in the Abwoon (Aramaic) work of Neil Douglas‐Klotz.
 
Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) were started in the late 1960’s by Samuel L Lewis, a close disciple of Hazrat Inayat Khan, his Sufi teacher, who was the inspiration behind the foundation of the Salisbury Centre 40 years ago.
 
Singing, dancing and meditating with the words and movements of the DUP give us many ways to increase the sense of joy and harmony in our lives and so bring these attributes into our communities.
 
There will be no sense of performance about participation – beginners and experienced dancers are all equally welcome.
 
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring soft shoes or socks.
 
7 sessions are planned before the Christmas and Hogmanay break and as we are now committed to offering these Dances long‐term, we will be continuing in the New Year and beyond!
 
Come when you can, although attendance each time is recommended.
